Europe Announces More Than €210 Million to Support Additional Researchers

The European Commission has announced more than €210 million in additional funding for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), creating opportunities for more than 700 additional researchers to develop their careers in Europe. The new support will strengthen Postdoctoral Fellowships and Doctoral Networks during 2026 and 2027. The announcement follows record demand for European research opportunities, with the 2026 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call receiving more than 21,600 applications from researchers worldwide. The additional investment is expected to strengthen international research careers and help European universities attract talented researchers across disciplines. For doctoral candidates and early-career researchers, MSCA programmes provide opportunities for international experience, professional development and collaboration between universities, research organisations and industry. The initiative reinforces Europe’s role as a major destination for researchers and supports the development of future scientific and innovation leaders.
