Erasmus+ Supports Growing Global Interest in European Studies
European Union studies continue to attract interest among universities and academic institutions around the world. Under the 2026 Erasmus+ call, 327 new Jean Monnet projects were selected to support teaching and research related to European Union studies, with 45% of the selected projects operating outside Europe. Jean Monnet activities can support university teaching modules, professorships, research networks and centres of excellence focusing on European integration, policies and international relations. The initiative provides students and academics with opportunities to explore the European Union from academic, policy and international perspectives. The growing international participation also demonstrates the role of European studies in understanding regional cooperation, international relations and the relationship between Europe and other regions of the world.
